Welcome to Cumbernauld College and Motherwell College’s merger website.

On 11 January 2013, the Boards of Management of both Colleges agreed to pursue a merger. Both Boards believe that the size and scale of the new college will allow it to operate more effectively within Lanarkshire, East Dunbartonshire, across Scotland, nationally and internationally.

We believe that the combined institution, with a shared culture will be better placed to meet the needs of learners; of staff; of employers; of stakeholders and future challenges facing the sector and our communities.

The new Regional College will operate from its existing campuses in Cumbernauld, East Dunbartonshire and Motherwell with links to community learning centres across the region.

The proposal to merge is very much aligned with the Scottish Government's Reform of Post–16 Education and the College Regionalisation Agenda.
